Goals of the Literacy Council
- Recruit additional tutors to reduce the waiting list of those seeking help.
- Continue to search out funding to increase and improve adult literacy services in our area.
- Increase awareness of the impact of illiteracy in our community.
- Improve the distribution of information about our services to people who need help with literacy.
The Barron County Area Literacy Council, Inc:
- was founded in 1986 and continues to serve our community today.
- is sponsored by the United Way of Rice Lake, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation, and Rice Lake Wal-Mart.
- is partnered with Wisconsin Literacy, Inc., WITC, and Workforce Resources’ International Center in Barron
